2001 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Orifice Tube in an A/C system on 2001 Buick LeSabre?
A: The first step before replacing the A/C Orifice Tube requires refrigerant recovery. Begin by disconnecting the a/c Evaporator hose from retaining clips and separating it where the A/C Orifice Tube exists before you pull that tube out from the line. The installation of a new A/C Orifice Tube requires mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil lubrication for the o-ring and proper orientation of the short screen and arrow toward the Evaporator direction. Attach the new A/C Orifice Tube by connecting and tightening the a/c Evaporator tube o-ring joint connections to 27 n.m (20 lb ft). The next step includes the installation of a/c Evaporator hose into retaining clips before recharging the system with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to perform a leak test on the fittings.
