How to replace the thermostat on 2003 Buick LeSabre?

As an alternative, empty the engine cover and drain to remove the thermostat. Unscrew the clamp to inlet radiator hose and pull off the hose. Then remove the thermostat cover and the thermostat. Wipe the surfaces, screw the new thermostat with a gasket and tighten the housing. Install the hose back, fill up the cooling system and install the engine cover.
