2003 Buick Regal Knock Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Knock Sensor (KS) 2 on 2003 Buick Regal?
A: Begin the ks 2 replacement procedure by elevating and securely supporting your vehicle. Start by draining the cooling system before removing the Knock Sensor heat shield's two retaining bolts. The Knock Sensor requires its electrical connector along with itself to be removed. The manufacturer already applies thread coating to the sensor which means adding thread sealant is unnecessary during installation. Install the Knock Sensor with 19 n.m (14 lb ft) of torque. Replace the heat shield while securing the bolts using 60 n.m of torque (44 lb ft of torque). Connect the electrical connector to replace the vehicle's lowered position then add coolant to the system.
