2003 Chevrolet Malibu Fuel Injector Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on 2003 Chevrolet Malibu?
A: The fuel injection repair process should start by releasing pressure from the fuel system before continuing. Begin by taking off the Fuel Rail together with the Fuel Injector retaining clips before removing the fuel injectors from the Fuel Rail. First remove carefully the Fuel Injector upper o-ring followed by removing the lower o-ring. Each new Fuel Injector must have its flow rate authorized before use and always install parts with appropriate part numbers. Place the brown o-ring at the base position after installing the upper and lower o-rings. Securing them requires the o-ring back up tool. Drive the Fuel Injector into position on the rail after which you should use retaining clips for attachment. Return the Fuel Rail to its position then tighten the fuel filler cap before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable while practicing proper battery disconnect measures. The inspection of fuel leaks requires you to turn on the ignition for 2 seconds then off for 10 seconds and look for leaks after you turn it on again.
