Check for fuel leaks by turning the ignition on for 2 seconds followed by a 10-second off period then re-turn the ignition on and inspect for leaks while maintaining a connection of the negative Battery Cable.

Begin service on the fuel injectors by first removing the Fuel Rail and second taking off both Fuel Injector retaining clips then extracting the fuel injectors out of the rail. Fasten the Fuel Injector onto the Fuel Rail by using retaining clips for security. Rehook the negative Battery Cable after installing the Fuel Rail while properly fastening the fuel filler cap. To check for fuel leaks activate the ignition switch on for 2 seconds and off for 10 seconds before activating it again while looking for any leakage.

You should handle the Fuel Injector with care because damage to electrical connector pins or nozzles could occur and never submerge the injector into cleaner due to its electrical nature. A Fuel Injector requires full assembly service because fuel leakage during service can pollute engine oil with fuel. First you must reduce pressure from the fuel system. You should reinstall the Fuel Rail along with the upper Intake Manifold before screwing down the fuel filler cap. To start the diagnosis check, reconnect the negative Battery Cable then turn the ignition on for 2 seconds followed by turning it off for 10 seconds afterward. Wait for ignition back on then inspect the system for fuel leaks.

The required tools for Fuel Injector cleaning include fuel line shut-off adapters (J 37287), Fuel Injector cleaner (J 35800-A), 3/8 fuel line shut-off valve (J 42873-1), 5/16 return pipe shut-off valve (J 42873-2), 3/8 fuel pipe shut-off valve (J 42964-1), and 5/16 fuel pipe shut-off valve (J 42964-2). Prior to adding the gm top-engine cleaner to the fuel tank dealers must use the gm p/n 12346535 for us operations or canadian p/n 992872 and close the canister valve. To utilize top-engine cleaner with a different brand follow the mixing ratio of 96 ml (3.24 oz) top-engine cleaner combined with 864 ml (29.16 oz) regular unleaded gasoline. Unlock the vehicle fuel pump followed by disconnecting the fuel lines and using specific shut-off valves to block their openings. Enable the pressure connection of the Fuel Injector cleaner (J 35800-A) to the Fuel Rail setting the pressure to 510 kpa (75 psi) until the engine stalls. Once the cleaner device disconnects you need to connect fuel lines back then let the vehicle run continuously for more than 2 minutes. Test the injector balance while recording pressure drops from each component then install the new injector when pressure measurement is at its lowest point. The technician should add port Fuel Injector cleaner gm p/n 12345104 (Canadian P/N 10953467) at a rate of one ounce per gallon of gasoline in the fuel tank before instructing the customer to alternate fuel brands and administer regular cleaner administrations for injector performance upkeep. A comprehensive road test should be conducted after resolving the issue.

Pressurize it and run the engine until it stalls.

Check for fuel leaks by turning ON the ignition for 2 seconds, turning it OFF for 10 seconds, then turning it ON again, and inspecting for any leaks.

Finally, reinstall the fuel rail.

First install the fuel injector upper O-ring and then the lower O-ring. Reinstall the fuel injector to the fuel rail and secure it with the retaining clip before reinstalling the fuel rail.

Reinstall the fuel rail.

After filling the injector cleaning tank with gasoline, disable the vehicle's fuel pump, disconnect the fuel lines, and plug them using the appropriate shut-off adapters.

First, remove the fuel rail.

If any leaks are detected, be aware that engine oil may become contaminated with fuel.
