Air Pump

Service of the Air Injection Pump requires a shutdown of ignition power. Begin the service of Air Injection by unclamping the AIR exhaust pipe hose pinch clamp followed by disconnecting the exhaust hose from the pump. The service of the AIR pump begins with disconnecting its electrical connector followed by unfastening the nuts that secure the AIR pump bracket to the frame. The mechanic should remove the AIR pump together with its bracket unit. You need to mount the AIR pump together with the bracket on the Frame by applying the nuts before torquing them to 50 N.m (37 lb ft). Connect the electrical connector on the AIR pump while applying light lubrication to the inner hose area before connecting it to the pump outlet port. The last step includes placing the AIR exhaust hose pinch clamp around the union between the AIR pump outlet port and hose.

First loosen the pinch clamp holding the secondary air injection (AIR) exhaust pipe hose before removing the AIR exhaust hose from both the AIR pump and AIR pump electrical connector. Begin by unbolt the AIR pump bracket from the frame and extract the AIR pump and bracket along with each other as a single unit. Mount the AIR pump together with its bracket onto the frame using the provided nuts following the specification of bolting them to 50 N.m (37 lb ft). Connect the electrical cable on the AIR pump then lubricate the inner hose edge before attaching it to the AIR pump outlet. You should install the pinch clamp on the outlet port/exhaust hose connection after which you can reposition the left front fender liner and the left wheel assembly when the vehicle is lowered.

Turn OFF the ignition and raise the vehicle using appropriate lifting equipment.

Connect the AIR pump electrical connector.
