• Q: How to Replace the Secondary Air Injection Pump on 2003 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: The replacement of secondary air injection (AIR) pump begins with ignition shutdown followed by vehicle lift before proceeding. First take off the left front fender liner before loosening the pinch clamp of the secondary air injection (AIR) exhaust pipe hose and then remove the AIR exhaust hose from the AIR pump. Begin by unplugging the electrical connector on the AIR pump then take out the AIR pump from its bracket. Install the AIR pump at its rubber retainers by tightening the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft). Connect the electrical cord to the AIR pump before applying light lubrication to the AIR exhaust hose inner edge then attaching the hose to the outlet port of the pump. The outlet port/exhaust hose requires securing through the use of a pinch clamp. Finish the installation by putting back the left front fender liner before lowering the vehicle.
