    Q:
What tools are required to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) and what are the steps involved in the process on Buick Park Avenue? Posted by Customer
    A:
The necessary tools for heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) replacement include an Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194). Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194). The ho2s along with the Oxygen Sensor retains their connector-pigtail permanently so do not detach them to prevent sensor dysfunction. The handling of ho2s and o2s must preserve their in-line electrical connector along with louvered end by keeping them clean from contamination and grease using no cleaning fluids. Start the inspection process with engine off while supporting the vehicle at its height. Start removal by taking off both the splash shield and ho2s electrical connector retaining tab that secures the connector. The ho2s electrical connector loses its Oxygen Sensor connector while being unlinked for servicing. Before attempting Oxygen Sensor removal operators need to wait until engine temperature drops below 48°c (120°F) because higher temperatures lead to installation challenges. The Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194) should be used to separate the Oxygen Sensor from its position inside the Exhaust Pipe. Reused sensor threads should receive special anti-seize compound treatment before installation by using p/n 5613695 or equivalent if necessary. The exhaust installation of the Oxygen Sensor requires a torque of 41 n.m (30 lb ft) for proper tightening. Position the ho2s connector to the ho2s electrical connector and return the retaining tab to its position on the ho2s electrical connector. Complete installation by adding the front splash shield then lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How to service the Heated Oxygen Sensors (Bank 1 HO2S 1 and Bank 2 HO2S 1) on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service procedures for heated oxygen sensors (Bank 1 HO2S 1 and Bank 2 HO2S 1) require the sensor to maintain pigtail and connector attachment to prevent impact on functionality. You need to handle the sensor gently in order to maintain the in-line electrical connector and louvered end clear of dirt and grease and chemical-free from contaminants during removal. The sensor becomes challenging to take out when engine temperature remains below 48°c (120°F) since using too much strength can harm Exhaust Manifold threads along with pipe threads. Start by supporting the vehicle then detach the electrical connector of the ho2s before slowly removing the heated Oxygen Sensor. To make future removal easier the installation process requires application of p/n 5613695 anti-seize compound to heated Oxygen Sensor threads where the compound combines graphite and glass beads to help sensor removal. Tighten the heated Oxygen Sensor by hand to 42 n.m (31 lb ft) torque spec after connecting the ho2s electrical connector.

    Q:
How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 involves vehicle elevation. First disconnect the connector for the HO2S before removing the HO2S with the Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B). Prior to sensor installation you should apply GM P/N 5613695 anti-seize compound to threads if needed because this compound made from liquid graphite and glass beads will help with future sensor removal procedures. Use the Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B) to install the HO2S then fasten it to a torque of 42 N.m (31 lb ft). Use the oxygen sensor wrench to connect the HO2S harness connector then lower the vehicle.
