EGR Valve

The first step to replace an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve includes a shutdown of ignition and the removal of the EGR Valve electrical connector. The transaxle fill tube installation begins with attaching the fill tube bolt onto the transaxle case before tightening it to 113 n.m (115 lb in). The vehicle should be lowered afterward for the air cleaner inlet duct reinstallation.

The replacement process of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve starts with turning off the ignition and disconnecting the EGR Valve electrical connector. To access the EGR Valve first disconnect the transaxle fluid filler tube along with the EGR Valve pipe retaining bolt. Pull the pipe assembly backward from its position while being cautious. Place a new gasket on the intake manifold and install the EGR Valve.

Reattach the EGR pipe to the EGR valve and install the bolt, tightening it to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Install the bolts through the EGR valve and tighten them to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

Place a new EGR valve gasket, install the EGR valve, followed by the EGR valve studs (4, 6), tightening them to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

Take out the gasket from the EGR valve adapter and clean the gasket mating surfaces.

Turn OFF the ignition and disconnect the EGR valve electrical connector.

Remove the gasket from the EGR valve adapter.

Clean the EGR valve mounting surface.

Remove the EGR valve bolts and the EGR valve itself.

Reinstall the transaxle fluid filler tube and reconnect the EGR valve electrical connector.

Connect the pipe assembly to the EGR valve and install the bolt, tightening it to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Install the new gasket and the EGR valve to the intake manifold, then install the bolts through the EGR valve, tightening them to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

Install the new gasket and the EGR valve to the intake manifold, then install the bolts through the EGR valve and tighten them to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

Reconnect the EGR valve electrical connector, then reconnect the negative battery cable.
