2005 Buick Century Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the EGR valve on 2005 Buick Century?
A: The process of replacing the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve starts by unplugging the electrical connector before dismantling the egr pipe bolt and pulling the pipe assembly gently in reverse. The next step requires the EGR Valve bolts removal and the valve itself then comes out followed by the gasket. First, remove all dust from the EGR Valve Gasket mating surface before putting in place the new EGR Valve Gasket and attaching the EGR Valve. Secure the EGR Valve with bolts at 30 n.m (22 lb ft) torque and then restore the egr pipe to the EGR Valve by means of a bolt tightened to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). The EGR Valve electrical connector needs to be placed back into position at the end of installation.
