How to replace the EGR valve on 2005 Chevrolet Impala?

The EGR Valve replacement procedure begins with disconnecting the EGR valve electrical connector after removing EGR valve nuts and finally removing the EGR valve itself. Clean both surfaces of the gasket mating which exist between the EGR valve adapter as the next step of valve replacement. The new EGR valve gasket should be installed first before installing the EGR valve and then fasten the EGR valve nuts with a torque of 30 N.m (22 lb ft) as per the Fastener Notice under Service Precautions. You should reconnect the EGR valve electrical connector as the last step.
