How to replace the EGR valve on 2004 Chevrolet Impala?

To remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve, unplug the EGR valve electrical connector, remove the EGR valve nuts and the EGR valve . Then remove the gasket from the EGR valve adapter and clean the gasket mating surfaces. During installation, put a new EGR valve gasket and fit the EGR valve. Make sure you comply with the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions and then fit the EGR valve nuts , tightening them to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). Finally, reattach the EGR valve electrical connector.
