How to replace the canister purge valves on 2004 Chevrolet Impala?

Before replacing the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve you must remove the fuel injector sight shield first. Start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve and then disconnect the purge pipe and vacuum supply hose. You should loosen the retaining tab found on the mounting bracket before extracting the EVAP canister purge valve. Place the new EVAP canister purge valve on the mounting bracket before connecting purge pipe and vacuum supply hose. After completing the installation you must firstly reattach the electrical connector followed by putting back the fuel injector sight shield.
