A: The replacement of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve requires users to first disable the ignition system and disconnect the EGR Valve electrical connector. You should remove the bolt securing the pipe from the EGR Valve then gently extract the pipe toward you. The EGR Valve replacement process begins with unbolting the retaining assembly and extracting both the EGR Valve while removing its gasket. Before installing the new EGR Valve to the Intake Manifold use a new gasket along with proper attention to fastener notice in service precautions when cleaning the EGR Valve mounting surface. Insert bolts into the EGR Valve assembly then torques them to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Reconnect the pipe assembly to the EGR Valve while installing the bolt which should be tightened to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Reinstall the electrical connector of the EGR Valve as the last step.
