How to service the EGR valve on 2000 Chevrolet Malibu?

Start service of the EGR Valve by turning off ignition then disconnecting the EGR Valve electrical connector. Draw the pipe assembly retaining bolt from the EGR Valve before you smoothly extract the assembly away from the valve. Start by removing both retaining bolts from the EGR Valve followed by removing the assembly and the gasket. The service procedure requires you to position the new gasket before securing the EGR Valve onto the Intake Manifold while observing the fastener notice in service precautions. Put EGR Valve bolts through the EGR Valve before tightening its nuts to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). The pipe assembly needs to be connected to the EGR Valve while reinstalling the bolt before securing each nut to 30 n.m (22 lb ft) torque. Reconnect the EGR Valve electrical connector as the last step.
