2003 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Brake Master Cylinder with Vacuum Boost on 2003 Chevrolet Suburban 1500?
A: Block all wheels using the parking brake to start serving the Brake Master Cylinder with vacuum boost. To keep brake fluid protected remove the brake pipe fittings from the master cylinder then connect a rubber plug into them to prevent fluid loss. First disconnect the master cylinder from its mounting nuts before pulling it out of the vehicle. Take off the master cylinder reservoir afterwards. Place the master cylinder reservoir first then follow the process to bleed the master cylinder before putting it back into the vehicle. Attach the master cylinder mounting nuts and tighten them to 36 n.m (27 lb ft) before removing rubber plug or cap from brake pipe ends. Link the brake pipes and tighten fittings to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) force. Also reposition the Brake Fluid Level Sensor connector back in place. After each step, finish the process by bleeding the hydraulic brake lines and letting the parking brake go free.
