A safe and supported method to replace an all wheel drive Shock Absorber requires raising the vehicle. A utility stand should be used to compress the coil spring so you can relieve tension on the Shock Absorber. The air tube connector requires removal from the Shock Absorber in vehicles that come with automatic level control. To begin step one remove the Shock Absorber upper bolt and its nut. Then proceed to remove the lower Shock Absorber nut before pulling out the Shock Absorber. Install the new Shock Absorber into its designated position after following the installation guidelines mentioned in the fastener notice in service precautions. Secure the Shock Absorber upper bolt by adding the Shock Absorber nuts 2 and 3 then apply torque to 85 nm (63 lb ft). Reestablish the air tube connector on the Shock Absorber when appropriate.
