2003 GMC Envoy Headlight Bulb Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front headlight bulb on 2003 GMC Envoy?
A: Safety first requires that the lamp switch gets flipped off along with waiting for the bulb to reach a temperature where it will remain safe to touch. Eye protection should always be worn during bulb handling and you must only touch the bulb base because touching glass results in dirt or moisture contamination. Going forward you should clean a wet or touched bulb with alcohol or suitable degreasing agents until it is completely dry. Open the hood to reach the headlamp and detach it before removing the access panel behind the lamp. The electrical connector should be detached from its socket before you turn the bulb and socket counterclockwise to take them out from the housing. Connectors should be disconnected for the second time before removing the bulb and socket from the headlamp. Follow the correct installation steps by using another black socket for high beam bulbs and another pair of low beam bulbs together with gray tips and gray sockets. To install the bulb and socket into the headlamp position the components and then join the electrical connector before clockwise rotation until the retaining tabs secure the components into place. Replace the headlamp by securing its access cover.
