The auxiliary evaporator core replacement begins with the removal of the auxiliary HVAC module through screw removal and case half separation. The technician shall disconnect the evaporator core seal to pull out the evaporator core from the auxiliary HVAC module. When this step is completed the technician must evaluate the gaskets and seals for damage while performing needed replacements. Installation requires insertion of the new evaporator core into the auxiliary HVAC module followed by application of the evaporator core seal then reassembly of the case halves and secure installation of the auxiliary HVAC module through screws which should be tightened to 2 N.m (16 lb in). Complete the leak test on fittings by using Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
