The process of replacing the front park brake cable requires the preliminary step of releasing the park brake through its mechanism while removing the park brake pedal. Start by removing the carpet then reach the cable anchor nut and grommet beneath it. Disconnect the cable anchor nut to extract the cable and grommet along with it from underneath the floor. The installation starts with lifting up the car before disconnecting the front cable from the intermediate cable and removing the cable from its frame bracket by pressing the retaining tabs. Begin installation by putting in the new cable before you embed the frame bracket retainer tabs. The front cable links directly to the intermediate cable and you should pass the connection through the floor pan while inserting the grommet. When the vehicle lowers from the safety stands replace the cable anchor to its floor stud position while tightening the anchor nut to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.). Reinstall the park brake pedal before resetting the carpet while using the correct adjustments for the park brake system.
