How to Replace the Rear Jounce Brake Line on 2003 GMC Savana 2500?

To replace the rear brake hose start by supporting and raising the vehicle followed by removing the tire and wheel assembly. Free the brake hose from abrasions by cleaning all surface dust. Put a back up wrench on the brake pipe and take off both parts from the brake hose using the force tool to cap these parts. Pull off the brake hose retaining clip from its bracket to extract the jounce hose from the matching bracket. Keep brake pipe seals covered with rubber caps or plugs when freeing the hose sections to stop brake fluid loss or contamination. Discard two stuck copper brake hose gaskets from both brake caliper and hose ends before removing the brake caliper bolt. Pull the brake hose off the vehicle foundation. Fasten 2 new copper brake hose gaskets and a brake hose bolt to the brake hose before attaching the hose to the caliper bolt with new washers added to the brake caliper. Thread the bolt to 44 nm (32 ft. Lbs.) when ensuring the hose stays straight and avoids suspension contact. Use a back up wrench on the brake hose while installing the pipe fitting to the exposed brake pipe fitting end. Remember to keep the pipe and bracket straight during installation. Tighten the fitting by turning it 25 nm (18 ft.lb.s). Before fastening the brake hose retaining clip to its bracket position, check if the hose rubs against the suspension parts. If it does, disconnect the hose to resolve the issue. Before driving the vehicle release the hydraulic brake system pressure using proper procedures then put the vehicle back into its storage position.
