To change the front brake hose, first, lift and support the vehicle, remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Clean brake hose and brake pipe fitting, and cover the exposed part of the brake pipe fittings with a rubber cap or plug for the prevention of fluid loss and contamination. Using a back up wrench on the brake hose fitting, detach the brake pipe fitting from the brake hose and cap or plug brake pipe fitting end without flexing the brake pipe or bracket. Remove the brake hose retaining clip from the hose mounting bracket, followed by the removal of the front brake hose retaining bolt and bracket from the upper control end; the brake hose to caliper bolt from the brake caliper as well as the brake hose from the brake caliper. Remove two copper brake hose gaskets, if stuck to the brake caliper or brake hose end, and pull the extra freight brake hose off the vehicle. As for installation, put a new copper brake hose gasket, fit it into a brake hose bolt and install the brake hose to a brake caliper bolt through new washers on a brake caliper and tighten the bolt thusly to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Then install the front brake hose bracket and retaining bolt to the upper
Control Arm as they are tightened to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). It is advisable to remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe fitting end and make sure the hose is not twisted and does not touch any suspension element. With the weight of the vehicle resting on the suspension, install brake hose into the bracket and install the retaining nut and retaining clip to the front brake hose. Tighten the brake pipe fitting nut to the brake hose using a back up wrench while avoiding bending the bracket or pipe tightening the nut to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs). Bleed the hydraulic brake system, put back tires & wheels, and lastly, take away the safety stands before lowering the vehicle.
