How to Replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on a 2WD Vehicle for Output on 2003 GMC Savana 3500?

Lift the vehicle before replacing the Vehicle Speed Sensor, making sure you know that the output speed sensor is on the Transfer Case if it's a 4wd, not on the case. Remove the electrical connector from the output speed sensor, and after that, remove the bolt and take out the sensor assembly with its bracket from the case. Look over the output speed sensor assembly for any signs that it could be damaged. During installation, put a little automatic transmission fluid on the output speed sensor seal, then install both the output speed sensor and the bracket assembly exactly as the fastener notice in service precautions states. Put the bolt in place and tighten it to 11 nm (96 inch lbs.), plug in the output speed sensor connector, then lower the vehicle.
