2004 Buick Park Avenue Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the upper left air temperature sensor on 2004 Buick Park Avenue?
A: First obtain access to the upper left air temperature sensor by removing outer IP trim covers through extension of the trim then removing left and right IP accessory trim plates afterward. Finally detach the left IP trim panel. To reach the air distributor duct screws remove the fasteners securing the upper part of the lower IP trim until the trim covers are accessible. Remove the IP trim from its studs then lower it down for access. Begin by taking out the screws located at both ends of the air distributor duct followed by the screws situated at the center of the duct. To replace the left air temperature sensor on the air distributor duct workers should turn it counter-clockwise 1/4 turn and detach both the electrical connector and sensor while facing the duct. Follow these steps to install the sensor: attach the electrical connector followed by sensor placement into the duct then clockwise rotation of 1/4 turn. Reinstall the air distributor duct after securing its outboard screws to 2 N.m (17 lb in), then apply the same torque for the center screws. Set the lower IP trim panel adjacent to the studs before installing screws and torquing them to 10 N.m (89 lb in). After completing these steps install the left IP trim panel along with the right and left IP accessory trim plates and outer trim covers.
