Starting the negative battery disconnection process requires turning off all lights and features followed by an OFF position on the ignition switch. The next step is to remove the negative battery cable from the negative battery post. Before the negative battery cable installation remove all oxidation from the battery post contact surface and negative cable using a wire brush when ready to cable. Screw the battery cable nut to 6 N.m (53 lb in). The radio system maintains electronic memory for storing clock settings along with preset radio choices thus eliminating the need for reprogramming functions.
