The service and repair process for Starter motors starts by unclipping the battery's negative cable and afterward lifting and securing the vehicle. Service the Starter motor by removing the torque converter cover followed by disconnecting the positive Battery Cable from the Starter and the s terminal wire from the solenoid. Start by removing the two mounting bolts from the Starter motor and pulling out the entire Starter assembly. When installing the Starter motor put it into position then fasten the mounting bolts with a torque of 43 n.m (32 lb-ft). Attach the battery positive cable to the Starter while completely tightening the nut to achieve 10 n.m torque or 89 lb in torques. After wiring the Starter motor s terminal the solenoid s terminal nut needs to be tightened to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) followed by reattaching the torque converter cover. The vehicle should be lowered first after reattaching the battery negative cable.
