    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on Buick Park Avenue? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process starts by disconnecting the battery negative cable then raising and supporting the vehicle. Begin by taking out the torque converter cover before disconnecting the Starter from the battery positive cable and separating the s terminal wire from the solenoid. The next step involves removing the two mounting bolts from the Starter motor while simultaneously removing the motor from its position. Mount the Starter motor onto its position then tighten the two Starter motor mounting bolts to 43 n.m (32 lb ft). Position the positive terminal of the battery while tightening it to 10 n.m (89 lb in) at the Starter. Then tighten the solenoid s terminal nut to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) after wire connection. After placing the torque converter cover you must lower the vehicle while reconnecting the battery negative cable.

    Q:
How to replace the starter motor PG260 F2 or PG260 M on Buick Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process of replacing the non-serviceable Starter motor pg260 f2 or pg260 m (which are not considered repairable as the unit should be replaced in full) starts with disconnection of the battery negative cable. Lift and support the vehicle and then unbolt the front lower air deflector panel and the torque converters covers. Remove the positive Battery Cable to remove Starter solenoid bat terminal nut, also remove Starter solenoid wire to eliminate the s terminal nut at the Starter motor. Directly disengage the Starter bolts (1, 2) and the actual Starter motor, pull out any shims if needed. When installing the new Starter motor, make sure it is the model it supposed to be pg260 f2 and adjust it to the engine and reinstall the shims if removed. Put the Starter bolts (1, 2) finger tight until they seat and then tighten to 43 n.m (32 lb ft). Connect the positive Battery Cable then apply the solenoid bat terminal nut finger tight after that connect the Starter solenoid wire then applying the solenoid s terminal nut finger tight. For solenoid bat of the solenoid terminal nut , apply 9.5 n.m (84 lb in); Starter solenoid s terminal nut 2.3 n.m (20.4 lb in). Reattach torque converter covers as well as front lower air deflector panel, bring the vehicle down, and finally reattach the battery negative cable.

    Q:
How to service the starter motor that must be replaced as a complete unit on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start all Starter motor servicing procedures by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable before replacing this completely unserviceable motor unit. Begin by lifting the vehicle then supporting it before you uninstall the lower air deflector and torque converter covers. The service begins by unfastening the Starter solenoid bat terminal nut followed by separating the positive Battery Cable from the motor. The next step is removing the Starter solenoid s terminal nut along with its wire. Start by removing the bolts (1,2) to extract the Starter motor which requires any removed shims before reinstallation. When installing the pg260 f1 Starter motor on 3.4l engines keep the correct Starter in place then position it correctly by the engine before reinstalling removed shims if needed. Begin by tightening each Starter bolt (1,2) lightly until it reaches the seat before securing them to 43 n.m (32 lb ft). First attach the positive Battery Cable and tighten nut around solenoid bat terminal while next running Starter solenoid wire and tightening nut at s terminal. All users should torque the bat terminal solenoid nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in) and the s terminal Starter solenoid nut to 2.3 n.m (20.5 lb in). The last steps involve putting back the torque converter covers and lower air deflector while lowering the vehicle down followed by reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
