How to replace the multifunction turn signal switch on 2004 Cadillac CTS?

Before replacing the Multifunction Turn Signal Switch start by turning off the SIR system and taking out both upper and lower trim covers. Put the steering column in the CENTER position and pull apart the turning signal and multifunction switch wires. Use the tool to free the 2 pan head tapping screws that hold the assembly. Lift out the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly. Install the new assembly by placing the electrical contact point on top of the turn signal cancel cam before tightening the two pan head screws. Secure the top screw with 3 Nm torque and the front screw with 7 Nm torque. Connect the system parts to their places at turn signal and multifunction switch assembly before fitting back upper and lower trim panels plus activating SIR system.
