• Q: How to replace the engine front timing cover on 2004 Cadillac SRX?

  A: To replace the engine front cover follow starts by getting the necessary tools such as the en 46109 engine front cover installation guide pins (EN 46109). Start by removing the engine cover and then upper Intake Manifold with the lower Intake Manifold and, finally, the camshaft covers. Remove the engine coolant and pull the purge vent hose off from the water outlet. Unscrew the water outlet as well as the Radiator Hose, make sure that they are kept off. Then remove the accessory drive belts, then remove the A/C Compressor and power steering belt tensioner. Remove with the generator bracket and the generator with the belt tensioner without disconnecting the power steering pipes from draining the power steering liquids. After that, reinstall the generator bracket with the generator and belt tensioner, a/c compressor and power steering belt tensioner and the accessory belts. Lastly, install the water outlet, reconnect purge vent hose, fill cooling system and install the camshaft covers, upper Intake Manifold and the lower Intake Manifold and the engine cover with the cooling system filled.
