• Q: How to replace the engine front timing cover on 2005 Cadillac SRX?

  A: To replace the engine front cover, the following steps need to be taken: remove the engine cover, remove the upper Intake Manifold with the lower Intake Manifold, and finally remove the camshaft covers. Drain off the engine coolant and unbolt the purge vent hose from the water outlet. Release the hose from the water outlet at the bottom of the radiator, take it out, and put it aside. Then detach the accessory drive belts, the A/C Compressor and the power steering belt tensioner. Trag the bracket of the generator with the generator, ans also belt tensioner without removing/ disconnecting power steering pipes or drain the power steering fluid. Reset the power steering fluid reservoir to be accessible after repositioning, then unsecured the pulley of the Power Steering Pump, upper front bolt of the Power Steering Pump, after which the final two bolts are unsecured.
