How to replace the front door window regulator on 2004 Cadillac SRX?

The Window Regulator replacement process starts by fully raising the window and dissembling both door trim panel and water deflector. Place support under the window at its maximum up position. After that, you can reach through the inner door panel to loosen the window clamp nuts by 4 turns. The wiring harness of the door trim panel needs connection before lowering the Window Regulator three-quarters of its distance and disconnecting the electrical connector from the Window Regulator motor. Untighten the bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) making up the Window Regulator followed by removing it from the door. Place the Window Regulator inside the door opening before you secure the Window Regulator bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) by tightening them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Lower the window through the Window Regulator clamps until it reaches the most rearward position in the channel while the support should be removed. Connect the power Window Motor electrical connector then start the vehicle to enable modulate maximum power to the Window Motor during seating of the window. Raise the window all the way up before tightening the window clamp nuts to 11 n.m (95 lb in). The window operation should be checked before vehicle shutdown and installation of door trim panel after water deflector placement.
