- Q: How to replace the front door window regulator on 2005 Cadillac SRX?A: Starting the frontal door Window Regulator replacement requires users to elevate the glass window to the highest position while unfastening the door trim panel and water deflector. Support the window at maximum height position as you loosen the nuts on the window clamp through the openings of the inner door panel by four revolutions. The process requires connecting the door trim panel wiring harness followed by lowering the Window Regulator 3/4 of its total length while performing a Window Regulator motor electrical connector disconnection procedure. The door becomes ready for Window Regulator replacement after the bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) are removed followed by removing the Window Regulator from the door. To install the new Window Regulator you must first place it into the door then torque all Window Regulator bolts to 9 newton-meter (N.m) using an 80 lb in torque bit. Lower the window through the clamps of the Window Regulator until it reaches the back of its channel without exceeding it. Start the motor while it receives maximum power through its electrical connector to achieve proper window seating. Fully raise the window before tightening its clamp nuts to 11 n.m (95 lb in).
