- Q: How to replace the front door window regulator on 2006 Cadillac SRX?A: A replacement of the front door Window Regulator starts by positioning the window in the full upward position before removing the door trim panel. After removing the water deflector you should support the window while keeping it in the full up position. The user must use inner door panel access holes to loosen window clamp nuts four times before connecting the door trim panel wiring harness. Lower the Window Regulator 3/4 of the way down and then remove its electrical connector from the motor. To remove the Window Regulator from the door separate the bolts numbered (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). To fit the regulator into the door structure install Window Regulator bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) while tightening them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Lower the window into the regulator clamps so that it rests at the back of the window channel before reinstalling the support. The vehicle startup with electrical connection to the power Window Motor will grant maximum power for correct positioning of the motor components. The final step requires raising the window to its complete up position before tightening the window clamp nuts to 11 n.m (95 lb in). Check the window for its correct movement and positioning before turning the vehicle off. Place on the water deflector followed by the door trim panel. The Window Motor programming phase should be implemented once power is off and only then.
