How to replace the Brake Light Switch on 2004 Cadillac XLR?

Apply counterclockwise motion to the upper switch for removal before disconnecting its electrical connector. Install the Brake Pedal switches only when the pedal stays at full up or at rest. Connect the upper switch electrical connector before installing it properly into the upper retainer by twisting the switch until it reaches a complete seat. Both the release switch assembly and stoplamp switch assembly must wait for the brake booster pushrod installation onto the Brake Pedal assembly because improper adjustment will result in cruise control dysfunction.
