2004 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on 2004 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: The first step for condenser replacement requires users to disconnect the negative Battery Cable while they discharge and recover the refrigerant from the system. Before starting unravel the Radiator and extract the bolt that holds the liquid evaporator pipe connector block together with the receiver-dryer. All pipe and conduit openings require caps to avoid contamination before removing upper condenser mounting hardware and washers. Before placement of the condenser start by anchoring it towards the front while lifting it from the engine compartment and applying new o-rings to both receiver-dryer tube connections while ensuring the condenser rubber mounting elements stay secured. Install the condenser into the vehicle by placing the lower mount shock protectors into their holes before sliding into the Radiator support mount holes. Screw in place the receiver-dryer while tightening the band clamp bolt. Tighten the receiver-dryer to condenser pipe connector block with the specified 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque value. Move forward with installation by placing the liquid pipe connector block on the condenser retaining bolt and ensure 14 n.m (124 lb in) torque before moving to the condenser's refrigerant discharge hose connector block bolt with a 16 n.m (12 lb ft) torque setting. To complete the procedure install the Radiator return the negative Battery Cable then perform an a/c system evacuation and recharging operation.
