Chevrolet Aveo A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on Chevrolet Aveo?
A: The process of replacing a condenser begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by discharging refrigerant recovery before proceeding. First remove the Radiator followed by unbolting the connector block and drying receiver from the liquid evaporator pipe. First secure all openings with caps to stop contamination before disassembling the upper condenser mount nuts and washers. A condenser install requires position of rearward facing condenser followed by extraction from the engine compartment and o-ring application to receiver-dryer tube fittings while rubber mounts must remain in place. When installing the condenser into the vehicle position the lower mount shock protectors into the designated holes before moving it forward into the Radiator support mount holes. Fasten the upper condenser mount nuts combined with washers by applying torque to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Next install the receiver-dryer before applying sufficient torque to the band clamp bolt. Connect the receiver-dryer to the condenser pipe connector block using a nut while tightening it to 10 n.m (89 lb in) then fasten the liquid pipe connector block to the condenser retaining bolt at 14 n.m (10 lb ft). Use a torque wrench to fasten the condenser's refrigerant discharge hose connector block bolt to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). After Radiator installation, reconnect the negative Battery Cable then finish by evacuating and recharging the a/c system.
