2009 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser in North America on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: North american air conditioning condenser replacement begins by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and following the protocol to discharge and recover refrigerant. Detach the bolts holding the liquid pipe connector block to condenser retaining block and the bolts connecting the refrigerant discharge hose connector block to the condenser. After Radiator removal you must cap all openings to avoid contamination. Begin by removing the condenser from the Radiator after first removing the condenser mount bolts. During installation place new o-rings on receiver-dryer tube fittings then secure the condenser rubber mounts in their positions for installation. Position the condenser into the Radiator alignment while making sure the lower mount shock protectors rest correctly in their assigned holes. The condenser mount bolts need installation using a standardized torque of 8 nm (70 lb in). After reinstalling the Radiator you should mount the refrigerant discharge hose connector block bolt at the condenser while maintaining a torque of 16 nm (12 lb ft). Once complete, install the liquid pipe connector block to condenser retaining bolt while tightening it to 14 nm (10 lb ft). Reconnect the negative Battery Cable followed by evacuating and recharging the a/c system.
