2009 Chevrolet Aveo A/C Expansion Valve Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve for the evaporator on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: Starting the replacement of the air conditioning Evaporator thermal expansion valve requires disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and recovering the refrigerant. After removing the cowl retaining nut of the liquid Evaporator pipe connector block the mechanic should disconnect the expansion valve connector block retaining bolts to extract the expansion valve which requires o-ring disposal. Surface preparation of o-ring areas should be completed before applying new o-rings to Evaporator tubes as well as a fresh expansion valve on Evaporator tubes. Replace the expansion valve retaining bolts before torquing them to the specified value of 12 nm (106 lb in). You should then place the liquid Evaporator pipe connecting block retaining nut at the cowl and secure it with 15 nm of torque (11 lb ft). Panel technicians should reestablish the connection of the negative Battery Cable before the system evacuation and recharge process.
