2004 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2004 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: Before beginning the Intake Manifold replacement start by removing the fuel pump Fuse then crank the engine until it stalls before waiting 10 seconds to let the pressure drain. Follow this process: remove the negative Battery Cable and drain the engine coolant then disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector and air intake tube from the Throttle Body followed by idle air control (IAC) valve connector and Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) connector and engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector and heater inlet hose from the cylinder head and surge tank coolant hose at the Throttle Body. The vacuum hoses and Throttle Body cable require removal in addition to separate extraction of the Fuel Injector rail and fuel injectors as one piece. After disconnecting the Alternator adjusting bolt and Alternator adjusting bracket bolt alongside the Intake Manifold support bracket bolts you can safely remove the Intake Manifold and its gasket. Next, clean both surfaces before removing the Alternator from the vehicle. For installation, place the new Intake Manifold Gasket and install the Intake Manifold, tightening the retaining nuts/bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) in the specified sequence. Reattach the Intake Manifold support bracket and tighten its upper bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) the installation process requires a torque of 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.) for the lower bolt and 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) for the upper bolts. Secure the Fuel Rail and fuel injectors at the same time as reattaching the throttle cable and vacuum lines as well as the heater inlet hose and surge tank coolant hose. Reinstall the Alternator adjusting bracket and tighten its bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.)technicians should install the Drive Belt and adjust the Alternator's adjusting bolt. Reconnect the ect sensor along with iac valve and tps and air intake tube and iat sensor and pcm/ecm ground terminal. The last step involves installing the fuel pump Fuse after reattaching the negative Battery Cable and adding coolant to the engine cooling system.
