    A: The first step to replace the upper Fan Shroud (W/O M74) requires loose clamps around the air cleaner outlet duct from Throttle Body and mass airflow sensor followed by duct removal. For vehicles equipped with these components the installer must remove the Fan Shroud retainers together with bolts while simultaneously removing the Throttle Body heater hose retainer and the inlet radiator hose retainer from the Fan Shroud. The procedure begins with bolt removal from the Fan Shroud retainers after which the upper Fan Shroud gets taken out. Mount the upper Fan Shroud in its correct position before securing its mounting bolts at 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). You should reinstall the Fan Shroud retainers followed by attaching the inlet radiator hose retainer and the Throttle Body heater hose retainer to the Fan Shroud only when these elements are present. Secure the Fan Shroud outlet duct by using 7 nm (62 inch lbs.) torque on the Throttle Body clamp and the clamp at the mass airflow sensor.
