2004 Chevrolet Blazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 on 2004 Chevrolet Blazer?
A: The replacement of Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 begins with vehicle elevation. First disconnect the HO2S's connector then use the Oxygen Sensor Wrench Tool (J 39194-B) to remove the sensor (HO2S). New and service replacement sensor threads should receive protection by a layer of anti-seize compound GM P/N 5613695 when necessary. This compound contains liquid graphite and glass beads. You must install the sensor using the Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B), reaching a torque level of 42 N.m (31 lb ft). Finish the repair by attaching the HO2S harness connector then drop the vehicle back to the floor.
