  A: To install Hood Cable first open the hood of the car blocking the Hood Latch so that it cannot lock. Squeeze the hood release cable retainer and take it off the Hood Latch, then remove side trim panel retainers and Hood Cable screws. Release the Hood Cable handle from the front hinge pillar, leaving the end of the wire or string in the passenger compartment. At the end of the Hood Cable, tie the wire or string to help in installing the new cable. Take out the grommet from the engine compartment to the passenger compartment with a small flat-bladed tool and remove the old sealant from the instrument panel hole. After that, detach Hood Cable from the instrument panel and wire/string from Hood Cable, then disassembly of Hood Cable. For installing, connect the wire or string to the new Hood Cable, and install through hole in the instrument panel, ensure a small flat-bladed is used and also ensuring it is fully seated. Remove the wire or string on the Hood Cable and then attach the Hood Cable ball to the latch and also the Hood Cable handle on the hinge pillar.
