How to replace the Power Steering Hose (GT5) on 2004 Chevrolet Express 1500?

Everyone working on replacing the Power Steering Cooler pipe/hose (GT5) needs to start by installing a drain pan under the vehicle while also supporting and raising it. You should disconnect both Power Steering Cooler hoses from the pump and gear before using caps to avoid external dirt ingress. First disconnect all mounting nuts that keep the Power Steering Cooler in place then pull out the Power Steering Cooler from the vehicle. Install the Power Steering Cooler and fasten its mounting nuts at 28 nm (21 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the Power Steering Cooler hose at the power steering gear while torquing the hose fitting to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.) before linking the hose to the Power Steering Pump. The vehicle drop should be completed while bleeding the power steering system and removing the drain pan positioned underneath.
