    Q:
How to replace the Power Steering Hose (GT5) on Chevrolet Express 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
A drain pan should be installed under the vehicle while you support it when replacing the Power Steering Cooler pipe/hose (GT5). Use caps to protect all connections of power steering pipes and Power Steering Cooler ends before removing the Power Steering Cooler hose from the Power Steering Pump and power steering gear. The Power Steering Cooler mounting nuts should be removed to extract the Power Steering Cooler from its vehicle position. Place the Power Steering Cooler into the opening of the vehicle before installing mounting nuts which should be tightened to 28 nm (21 ft. Lbs.). The installation of Power Steering Cooler hose requires connecting it to both the power steering gear and pump as you tighten the hose fittings to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.) tension. Before extracting the drain pan beneath the vehicle you must lower the vehicle and perform power steering system bleeding.
