As the first step to replace the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose you need to install a drain pan under the vehicle while siphoning power steering fluid from the reservoir to minimize spillage. Start with taking out the power steering outlet hose from the Power Steering Pump and afterward follow up by removing the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering gear and finally remove the power steering gear outlet hose from the entire vehicle. After choosing the hose placement as it was before removal the mechanic should install the steering gear outlet hose to the power steering gear while tightening the fitting to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.). Install the power steering outlet hose to the Power Steering Pump before bleeding the power steering system then dispose of the drain pan from under the vehicle.
