    Q:
How to replace the pitman arm on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the Pitman Arm is to lift and properly support the automobile. Establish the power steering gear in a vise after removing it from the vehicle. First remove the Pitman Arm nut along with its washer before detaching the Pitman Arm from the shaft by using a (Pitman Arm Puller) or (Universal Pitman Arm Puller). It should be a priority to position the new Pitman Arm onto the power steering gear and match the installation marks which were set during removal between the Pitman Arm and the Pitman Arm shaft. Apply a new Pitman Arm washer together with its nut and tight it to 250 nm (184 lb ft). Once all procedures are complete you can take the power steering gear from the vise before reinstallation. The last step consists of lower the vehicle to inspect wheel alignments.
