Begin by unwinding the tape holding the positive cable and ground strap attached to the negative cable before pulling out the negative cable from its retainers. Start by lifting the vehicle and removing first the lower closeout panel followed by the front transmission mount. Use a wrench to take off the nut keeping the ground cable secured to the bellhousing stud while pulling the ground cable free. Begin installation work by attaching the ground cable followed by nut installation onto the bellhousing stud and torque at 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After mounting the front transmission mount and lower closeout panel you can lower the vehicle. First install the negative cable to its retaining bracket and then secure the positive cable and ground strap to the negative cable using tape before applying the retaining bolt to hold the ground cable to the core support for negative ground connection.
