Make sure to mark each bearing cap before you advance the camshaft sprockets so you can reinstall them correctly. Proceed to remove bearing caps along with the intake camshaft while gradually unfastening each bolt from each cap until all camshaft tension ends. Finish by removing the camshaft roller followers and the hydraulic element lash adjusters. You should lubricate the valve tips before installing the hydraulic element lash adjusters followed by camshaft roller followers and ensuring that alignment notches face the camshaft sprocket. Put the intake camshaft and camshaft bearing caps in place and torque the bearing cap bolts 3 turns at a time until seated before torqueing them to 10 nm (89 inch lbs). Apply a 5 mm (0.197 inch) bead of permatex anaerobic gasket makers 51813 (or equivalent) to the rear intake camshaft bearing cap and install rear intake camshaft bearing cap bolts before final tightening them to 25 nm (18 ft.
