The repair starts with unscrewing the Fuel Tank filler housing to Fuel Tank fill pipe screws before you extract the Fuel Tank filler housing. The process starts by supporting the vehicle while lifting it and stripping out its ground strap for the Fuel Tank and its ground straps on the chassis harness and Fuel Tank. Remove the Fuel Tank fill pipe by detaching its rear axle vent hose from the fuel fill pipe bracket clip and loosen the Fuel Tank fill pipe clamp then pull out the pipe from the tank and vehicle while using a cap to close the Fuel Tank opening so it stays contamination-free. To install the fuel fill pipe place the cap off the Fuel Tank opening before attaching the pipe to both vehicle and tank and finally tighten the Fuel Tank clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in).
