2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the auxiliary evaporator core on 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: The first step to change the auxiliary Evaporator core requires using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to check for leaks in its component fittings. Start by taking off the Heater Core-auxiliary and afterward the inverted torx studs from the Evaporator block-auxiliary. Start the auxiliary processor installation process by removing the screws which secure the blower motor control unit followed by taking out its backing plate. Start by removing the screws belonging to the hvac module-auxiliary case sump followed by its removal. The team needs to remove the hvac module-auxiliary along with the Evaporator core-auxiliary while also removing its foam insulator. The installation process requires both the foam insulator transfer to the new Evaporator core-auxiliary along with the placement of thermal expansion valve-auxiliary on the core. Secure the rear hvac module-auxiliary with its replacement Evaporator core-auxiliary using screws which should be tightened to 2 n.m (18 lb in). You should put back the blower motor control processor-auxiliary along with the backing plate to the Evaporator core-auxiliary. The process continues with installation of the Evaporator block-auxiliary and inverted torx studs while torquing them to 2 n.m (18 lb in) before Heater Core-auxiliary placement.
